Dossier for International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

25th November is the ‘International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women’. It was called out in 1981 by the United Nations in memorial of the Mirabel sisters and has since become a day of struggle and resistance by women against the various forms of violence inflicted on them.
We spoke with three women’s organizations – Zenobia Women’s Gathering, Kongra Star and YPJ about gendered violence, and which role they play in the defense and protection of women.

As women we can transform ourselves based on our thought - women are knowledgable, women can trust themselves, women cal lead, women can take their place in institutions.
