On Tuesday 20.12.2022 in Teqil Beqil, a village in Derik, Turkish aircrafts killed 11 civilians using a double tap strike. The attack not only left the population grief stricken and angry, but it also motivated resistance against Turkish attacks. We met Sozdar Gelhat, a 19 year old YPJ fighter from Derik, who is preparing herself to defend the people of North and East Syria against Turkish occupation attempts. In an interview she explains how the attacks on Derik made her even feel more responsibility to defend her people and to play an active role in the resistance.
